We are seeking a driven and experienced Head of Quality Assurance to lead the development and implementation of Country Road Group’s (CRG) quality strategy across our portfolio of brands — Country Road, Witchery, Trenery, MIMCO and POLITIX.

This pivotal leadership role ensures our products consistently meet the highest standards, from design and production through to in-store and customer delivery. With oversight of end-to-end quality assurance — across factories, warehouses, and stores — you’ll play a key role in risk mitigation, vendor performance, and customer satisfaction.

If you are a strategic thinker with a deep technical understanding of product quality, production, and compliance in fashion retail — and you thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment — this is your opportunity to shape how quality defines the customer experience at CRG.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Standards

  • Develop and implement a group-wide Quality Assurance strategy and framework.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures, and performance targets across all brands and categories.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of CRG’s quality manuals, processes and return-to-vendor policies.
  • Champion continuous improvement practices and partner with suppliers to lift quality outcomes.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage onboarding of new suppliers from a quality perspective.
  • Set and communicate clear quality expectations to suppliers, agents and internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with local and offshore suppliers to ensure compliance and consistent product quality.
  • Escalate and communicate any significant quality issues, rework, or product withdrawals across the group.

Quality Assurance Oversight

  • Oversee all quality inspections at manufacturing locations, including management of third-party auditors.
  • Lead the in-market quality escalation process – including investigation, resolution, and reporting via the Quality Log.
  • Drive efficiencies and reduce time and cost across QA systems and processes.

Issue Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the management of withdrawn styles and collaborate on root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Communicate quality issues across Retail Operations, including South Africa and New Zealand markets.
  • Work with internal product development and production teams to resolve supplier claims and manage rework or cancellations.

Technical Expertise

  • Act as the group-wide technical expert on quality, fabric, trims, garment construction, and performance standards.
  • Support cross-brand investigations and advise on resolution of product and manufacturing issues.
  • Provide guidance and leadership on the interpretation of quality standards, customer expectations and industry best practices.

People & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team with a strong culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Foster an inclusive, safe and supportive team environment.
  • Model leadership that embraces change, innovation and collaboration across our House of Brands.

Key Capabilities

  • Extensive leadership experience in quality assurance within the retail or fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of garment production, quality systems and offshore manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage quality systems, processes and audit frameworks.
  • Deep technical knowledge of fabrications, trims, garment construction and quality compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and vendor engagement skills across global supply chains.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
