Step into a day in the life of a Senior Designer at Mimco where creativity, craftsmanship and innovation come together in every detail.
From identifying trends and shaping seasonal direction to designing standout accessories across bags and small leather goods, you will turn inspiration into commercially successful collections.
Working closely with Buying, Merchandising and suppliers, you will bring concepts to life from sketch to store. If you have a strong eye for materiality, construction and elevated design and love seeing your products out in the world, we would love to hear from you!
How you will contribute
Design and develop products aligned with brand strategy that fulfill customer needs and provide ongoing innovation in designated categories
Align product details and aesthetics across categories to ensure monthly collection cohesion
Ensure the collection resonates with target customer
Guide the Designer in product design and development before range sessions with the Head of Design and Buyers and Production Manager
Communicate with factories, suppliers, and agents to develop and produce collections that meet the brand’s and customers' quality standards
Oversee the completion of briefing sheets for all styles within nominated categories, ensuring they are handed over to the Technical Designer according to the critical path
Lead fit direction with the Technical Designer to maintain consistent fit and high-quality workmanship
Communicate styling adjustments post-fittings to the Merchandise Planner, Buying and Production Manager, addressing any design concerns, potential delays, or price adjustments
Review weekly sales reports to analyse best sellers, sell-through rates, and any issues with specific styles or colours.
Capabilities we value
Qualification or industry experience in Fashion, Textile or Graphic Design
Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Design and develop products aligned with brand strategy that fulfill customer needs and provide ongoing innovation in designated categories
Align product details and aesthetics across categories to ensure monthly collection cohesion
Ability to review weekly sales reports to analyse best sellers, sell-through rates, and any issues with specific styles or colours
Strong leadership capabilities and ability to implement best in practice processes.
