Provides sound technical advice to product developers and designers in understanding how the desired style and fit can be achieved. Responsible for the design brief pack to the vendor and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the process. Actively troubleshoot with stakeholders when technical issues may arise, presenting options and solution aligned to the brand/Group objectives. Ensure vendors have all necessary information to commence production. Supports Technical Designers by providing coaching and guidance to develop skills and capability.
Key Accountabilities
Provide technical advice and support to the team regarding styling and fitting requirements.
Create and maintain accurate technical packs in the PLM system for all styles, or through an agreed manual process if no system is available.
Establish and maintain appropriate construction standards across all categories with suppliers, ensuring alignment with the brand’s quality expectations.
Ensure all fit comments and construction changes are accurately captured and loaded into the PLM system after each fitting session.
Ensure garment readiness for bulk production including QA approval across fabric and garment and Tech Pack accuracy and completeness.
Ensure products are produced according to technical specifications, such as material requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
Take full responsibility for the outcomes of the function, ensuring it aligns with the broader business strategy and delivers on key objectives.
Demonstrate relentless focus and commitment to delivering our strategic blueprint together, always acting in the best interest of the group.
Key Capabilities
Bachelor or Diploma of Fashion/Textiles or equivalent tertiary design qualification.
Proven product development experience, particularly with womenswear design and manufacturing.
High level of attention to detail, ensuring precision in product development and quality assurance.
Strong negotiation skills are highly regarded, aiding in supplier management and product pricing discussions.
