Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead our financial reporting, tax, and treasury functions. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of financial information- including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow statements- to internal and external stakeholders such as the Board, ASIC, and the ATO. The position also plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making through analysis of cashflow, hedging, and balance sheet metrics. This is a high-impact opportunity at the heart of financial leadership and business performance.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Review monthly financial results for accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Oversee central finance functions, including AP, AR, Cash Management, Reporting, and Tax.
  • Lead monthly finance team meetings to ensure completeness and accuracy of results.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
  •  Prepare monthly commentary on balance sheet movements and variances to budget/forecast.
  • Identify and communicate balance sheet risks and P&L impacts to stakeholders.
  • Oversee preparation of annual statutory accounts for all entities.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure efficient and timely completion of audits.
  • Prepare management cashflow statements and maintain cashflow forecasting models.
  • Manage working capital and net debt to support business liquidity.
  • Review and manage foreign currency hedge forecasts and group hedging requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with all tax obligations, including income tax, GST, BAS, and FBT.
  • Manage taxation risks and ensure robust policies and controls are in place.
  • Review forecast tax cashflows and GL reconciliations for tax balances.
  • Drive process improvements across financial operations.
  • Oversee Oracle Financials system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Stay current with accounting standards and ensure compliance across the team.
  • Maintain and enforce the Accounting Policies manual and other financial governance frameworks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven team culture.
  • Uphold the company's Code of Conduct and shared values.
  • Undertake other tasks as required.

 

Key Capabilities

  • CA or CPA qualification essential
  • Proven leadership experience in financial accounting in both chartered and commercial environments
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
  • Proficient in financial systems, preferably Oracle Financials and EPM (or similar tools)
  • Track record of driving process improvements and cost efficiencies
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy and organisational skills
  • Excellent time management; able to meet tight deadlines
  • Clear and effective communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial acumen, with retail industry experience highly regarded
