The Country Road team is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Product Developer – Knit to support our growing knitwear category. This is a rare opportunity to acquire the skills needed to be a Product Developer. You will learn the product development process within knitwear, gaining hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle while working with a passionate and highly skilled team.
As an Assistant Product Developer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the end-to-end development process for our knitwear ranges. Working closely with Buyers, Designers, Technical Developers and global suppliers, you will help bring our product vision to life—on brand, on brief and on time.
Key Accountabilities
Support the coordination of the critical path and go-to-market calendar , ensuring all key milestones are met.
Tracking and maintaining sample progress , organising approvals, and preparing product information as needed.
Contributing to cost negotiations , helping to achieve target margins while maintaining quality.
Assist with weekly reporting by gathering data and providing basic sourcing, product development and supply chain performance updates, and support supplier and factory selection by collecting required information, samples and options.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure final products reflect the design intent and deliver on Country Road’s quality expectations.
Developing strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth product execution.
Key Capabilities
Bachelor of Fashion/Textiles or an equivalent tertiary/TAFE design qualification.
Some industry experience in a product development, design, buying or garment-related role.
Foundational understanding of fabrics, yarn types and basic garment construction, with a strong willingness to deepen your technical knowledge.
Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
A team-focused approach and eagerness to learn from experienced industry professionals.
